Recipe for sausage balls using Bisquick, cheddar cheese and sausage perfect served
as an appetizer, tailgate food, party favorites or even breakfast!

30 minutes · Serves 20-24 · The original recipe for sausage balls using Bisquick, cheddar cheese and sausage perfect served as an appetizer, tailgate food, party favorites or even breakfast!

Sausage Ball Recipe Bisquick

INGREDIENTS:
3 scant cups Bisquick baking mix
1 pound pork sausage at room temperature (I use ‘hot’)
16 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded (4 cups)
1/4 cup chopped fresh chives or parsley (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Combine all ingredients in a stand mixer and mix at low speed using the dough hook or
paddle attachment until all ingredients are evenly combined.
2. Roll dough into 1 1/2 inch balls and place on a baking sheet one inch apart. I use my handydandy cookie scoop to make quick work out of portioning these.
3. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned on the bottom.
4. UPDATE: this recipe has garnered SO MANY comments regarding 2 vs. 3 cups of Bisquick
so I want address it here in the recipe… I make it with three scant cups. I have made it
exactly as written dozens of times since I posted this and they have come out perfect
and just like these photos every single time. The uncooked dough is very hard to stir
because it is stiff and crumbly so I have to use my stand-mixer. If you don’t have a standmixer, use a wooden spoon to stir then your hands to work the ingredients into a dough.

NOTES:
Definitely shred your own cheese. If you find that your sausage balls are too dry with 3 cups of
Bisquick it might be because you’re using preshredded cheese. Preshredded cheese is coated
with cellulose which is a moisture-blocking agent.

Don’t use the measuring cup to ‘scoop’ the mix as it will pack too much into the cup. Spoon the mix
into a measuring cup.

I ALWAYS use Jimmy Dean sausage in these.

I use hot sausage with these and think they’re perfect (and definitely not too hot for the little
people). Cheddar cheese just goes so well with a touch of heat. If you use regular or mild sausage,
consider adding a little cayenne pepper!

INGREDIENTS
1/2 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, diced into 3/4-inch pieces

3 cups cooked jasmine rice

2 eggs

2 tbsp. butter, divided

3 1/2 tbsp. tamari (gluten free) or low-sodium soy sauce

1 tbsp. sesame oil

1 1/2 cups frozen peas and carrots

1/2 yellow onion, diced

2 green onions, chopped

2 cloves garlic, finely minced

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

DIRECTIONS
Melt some butter in a large skillet (or wok) over medium-high heat. Add chicken, salt and pepper, and cook until chicken is cooked through, about 6 – 7 minutes.
Transfer cooked chicken into a plate, and set aside.
Add a tablespoon of butter to the pan. Add onions, carrots and peas; stir fry until tender, about 4 minutes. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
Push veggies aside, and scramble eggs on the empty side of the pan.
Stir egg and veggies together. Add remaining butter to the pan.
Add in rice, green onions, soy sauce and chicken and combine. Leave them alone for a minute to little toasty.
Stir everything up, and allow the rice to sort of crisp up again.
Turn off the heat, and drizzle sesame oil over the skillet. Stir to combine.
Serve immediately.

Chinese SPICY Beef Stir Fry Recipe ~ How To Velvet Beef

Hello everyone I’m Tess and welcome to my kitchen. Tonight I am making a Chinese spicy beef stir-fry. Soft tender beef with a delicious spicy Hoisin chili sauce. I’ll show you how to make this meal from start to finish. Stay tuned! If you like beef and spicy you are going to enjoy this Chinese stir-fry. I’m making sure I have everything prepped and ready before cooking. I have about a pound and a half of top sirloin or London broil cut that I thinly sliced across the grain. I’m adding in a sprinkle of white pepper, a large egg white and about 2 tablespoons of cornstarch. You may need to add more cornstarch depending on the amount of meat that you have. You want to mix thoroughly making sure all the beef pieces are coated and the cornstarch absorbed. Letting that rest and marinate for about 30 minutes. I am using the Velveting technique to cook the beef. The results are soft and tender piece of beef with a velvety smooth texture.

I’m cooking the beef in two batches as not to overcrowd the pan. I have a pot of low simmering water and I’m adding in my pieces of beef. The beef will sink to the bottom. Once the pieces are in, give it a gentle jsush to make sure nothing sticks to the bottom. As the beef cooks it will float to the top. This will only take one to three minutes and be careful not to overcook the beef. If need be give it a taste test along the way. Once done, remove the beef and set it to the side. Next is the sauce. The sauce does contain several ingredients but it is well worth it. It has a great balance of salty, sweet and heat.

We like lots of sauce so I’m starting with a half a cup of water and am adding in two tablespoons of ShaoXing cooking wine or you can use rice vinegar, 1 teaspoon of dark mushroom flavor soy sauce and this is going to add a rich flavor and color, four tablespoons of hoisin sauce, 3 tablespoons of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and this is four tablespoons of sweet chili sauce. It’s going to add the heat. And finally 2 teaspoons of cornstarch for thickener. Giving that a good mix. I have all my vegetables and other ingredients prepped and ready and we are ready to cook. You can use a wok or pan and on medium heat I’m adding in about 3 tablespoons of oil and a tablespoon of minced garlic and ginger. Cooking and stirring for about 30 seconds and then I’m adding in my vegetables. Tonight I’m using some diced onions, carrots, celery, bell peppers and mushrooms. This is a great time to clean out the refrigerator. Broccoli is also really good in this recipe. Cooking and stirring for five to eight minutes or until the veggies are tender. Next I’m adding in the cooked beef and giving everything a good stir to get coated with that delicious sauce we just made. This smells so good! The beef is so tender and has a soft texture. All the veggies add texture and flavor. You can taste the garlic, the ginger, the Hoisin sauce and the chili sauce adds a nice sweet tang of heat.
