This blog post is written by a very proud older sister who’s brother has decided to take the leap & go to Tanzania in 2020 to undertake a variety of different volunteer projects over a period of 4 weeks! Imagine doing all of this at the age of 14? He’s inspirational & his work will make a huge difference to communities, wildlife & the environment over in Africa. Here’s a bit more about what he’ll get up to & how we can help.
Aiden (my brother) has been given the opportunity to travel to Tanzania in the summer of 2020 with an organisation called ‘Camps International’. He’ll spend 4 weeks in multiple camps located in wildlife reserves, working to support communities & indigenous people. Every single day he will work hard to make a difference to these people’s lives. Here are just some of the projects he’ll be involved in:
> Building classrooms to ensure that children have a safe space to learn & building desks so they no longer have to sit on the floor.
> Help to provide freshwater tanks to allow communities to access clean, fresh water.
> Help communities to protect their local crops by creating ethical elephant deterrents & digging elephant water holes.
> Support wildlife conservation. Specifically Aiden will be supporting turtle & sea life conservation.
> Recycling plastic waste & turning it in to eco-friendly building materials.
Aiden’s determination to make a difference has utterly inspired me. This is a once in a life time opportunity for him & his heart lays with the help he’ll be doing for others. He is so motivated & already has so many amazing ideas for fundraising over the coming year. His first idea is to conduct a sponsored litter pick around our local village (Seaton, Workington, Cumbria) on 29th July 2019 from 10am- 4pm.
I will be doing all I can to help Aiden raise the £4300 he needs for this expedition & that begins with sharing his journey with you lovely people. I’d be forever grateful for you to share Aiden’s story & goals for 2020, along with his fundraising links below.
