It’s that time of year again! Time to Talk Day in collaboration with ‘Time to Change’ the biggest UK campaign to challenge Mental Health Stigma. This day encourages everyone to talk about Mental Health- whether you’re at work, at home with the family or relaxing on your own (get online!). ‘Time to Change’ have provided us with tailored conversation packs to guide that natter- so where ever you are, let’s get talking!
This year, I’ve decided to create my own ‘Time to Talk Day Challenge’ and would love for some of you to join me! You can complete these tasks face-to-face, via telephone or even on social media. There are no excuses- let’s do this.
No.1 : Mention ‘Time to Talk Day’ to 3 different people. (When you drop this in to a conversation people will either know what it is already and tell you more, or they’ll ask you what it’s all about. Win, win!)
No.2 : Tell someone how you feel today! (This could be as implicit as saying “I feel awful today- I’m tired & I’ve got a headache”, or explicitly talking to someone you trust about what is bothering you and how you’re mental health is as a whole.
No. 3 : Let your friends and family know that your door is always open for a chat about how they are feeling- on good days and bad.
No. 4 : Learn something new about Mental Health! Google away.
No. 5 : Create a social media post promoting ‘Time to Talk Day’ and the aim of the day.
No. 6 : Leave a comment below to let me know how you got involved with ‘Time to Talk Day’ 2019.
Every tiny conversation, every new fact, every question answered- it all goes a long way to ending the stigma of Mental Health.
Until next time,
Love, Kayleigh Rose x
