I always love reading the monthly favourite blogs so I thought, for the first time, I would share my own. As you will probably know, I am by no means a make-up guru or beauty queen- though I do have a soft spot for LUSH at the moment. Here goes nothing- my Feb faves from binge-worthy Netflix series’ to my very own self-care techniques.

OK so before I start- you were warned in the intro! This month I have been even more OBSESSED with LUSH than usual- purely because I decided to take the plunge & try new products. If you follow me on Instagram you will already know that my regular face & body mask is the LUSH Mask of Magnaminty. Easy to apply, easy to remove, does the job (& quickly) & smells amazing. I don’t understand how one product has the power to relax when used as part of a bed time routine & energise when used in the morning.

The next one I feel is one of everybody’s favourites. The Cheer Up Buttercup Bath Bomb. Cheap & cheerful- simple & successful. I would always opt for this bath bomb over the others… for now anyway. I will continue to try the others to find a worthy competitor- all whilst ensuring I am stocked up with my trusty favourite.

And the finale of this month’s LUSH saga is the Bubblegum Lip Scrub. I was originally tempted into this product by the phenomenal smell. In my local store purchasing other products & I took a wiff whilst in the queue. I didn’t buy there & then but I could not get it off my mind. You know what they say, if you can’t get something off your mind you need to buy it. It would be rude not too. Now I use it every single day without fail, the main reason being to take care of my lips, with the second being the sweet taste as you lick off the excess product as directed. Bliss.

Anyone else spent what seems like their entire life searching for the perfect foundation? I have. Too dark, too pale, too heavy, too light, not enough coverage, too expensive for my budget, blah, blah, blah. I am pleased to announce that I have found that special foundation. The Body Shop Matte Clay Foundation is absolutely perfect for my skin colour & type. I can’t take sole credit for this discovery as the lovely lady in the store helped me out BIG TIME.

For Christmas my parents gave me a set of incense sticks, all of which had an individual scent in order to reach a particular state of mind (these are featured in my Christmas Present Haul blog post). My favourite out of all of these has to be the Vanilla, Sandlewood & Camomile scent. It ticks all the boxes & really helps me to relax & unwind.

This 80’s author was recommended to me by my Mam who claimed that the only reason she got back into reading (& enjoying it) was because of V. C. Andrews. If that doesn’t deserve a read, I don’t know what is. I have recently started reading the Dollanganger Series, beginning with Flowers in the Attic. As I am utterly terrible at summarising books without giving away vital information, here is a link to GoodReads which will tell you everything you need to know. I am about half way through this book & am hooked- to the point where I have been reading it on my dinner break. What?!

Recently, like the rest of the world, I have been absolutely loving the documentary series by Stacey Dooley, with the most recent being ‘Gypsy Kids Taken From Home’ which is equally heart-breaking & thought-provoking as the rest. She does not shy away from controversy & throws herself in the deep end of every single experience. She is an exceptional role model for any young woman. Actually, just anyone. These are all on BBC I Player. If you take anything from this blog post, take this one recommendation.

Something else I have been watching is on good ol’ Netflix. I don’t know if I am behind the times here but I have been loving Manhunt: Unabomber. A drama based on true events. A good one for a couple who can never agree on what to watch- isn’t that right Ben?

Last, but most definitely not least, The Greatest Showman! I cannot stop talking about this one. ‘’What’s so good about it?’’, I hear you ask. Well, let me tell you. The actors, the soundtrack, the dances, the real stunts, the set, the storyline, the moral of the story, the atmosphere in the cinema (both times- as I am guilty of watching this film twice at 2 different locations) & it’s fantastic ability to keep everyone hooked. Unless you have been living under a rock, you will have heard of this film. If you haven’t seen it already, you are missing out. I’ll finish there so you can go & book your tickets…

Thank you for reading & I hope you like the sound of some of my Feb Faves. Let me know in the comments below what your favourite products are from this month. Have you tried anything new? What are you watching on TV at the moment? Do you agree with my opinions?

 Keep in touch,

 Love, Kayleigh Rose x
